Matt Levin, CCIM - Biography

Matt Levin is a seasoned commercial real estate professional with more than 30 years of experience in the metropolitan Atlanta market. His practice focuses on the sale and leasing of office, medical office, retail, industrial properties, land, and single-tenant net-leased investments.

Originally from New Jersey, Matt graduated from Emory University and quickly recognized the opportunity and growth potential Atlanta offered. Drawn by the city’s momentum, he made the South his permanent home and has never looked back.

Matt earned a Master of Science in Real Estate from Georgia State University during the height of the savings and loan crisis. He began his career with the FDIC, where he ultimately supervised a team responsible for negotiating workouts on non-performing loans secured by commercial real estate. During his tenure, he received three Superior Performance Awards for his leadership and results.

Following the market recovery, Matt purchased and operated his own brokerage, DeKalb Realty, and later spent the majority of his career with a national commercial real estate firm. There, he consistently ranked in the top 100 for sales and leasing year over year and was a multi-year recipient of the firm’s highest recognition award. To date, Matt has completed more than 500 transactions totaling over $300 million in value.

A strong believer in education and professional excellence, Matt continually invests in advanced training with Andrew Lacey, one of the nation’s preeminent real estate coaches to ensure exceptional client representation. He earned the CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation, widely recognized as the standard for commercial real estate investment expertise.

After three decades in the industry, Matt joined the commercial division of Crye-Leike Real Estate Services- ranked the fourth-largest independently owned real estate company in the United States. The decision followed a meeting with founder and CEO Harold Crye and was, in Matt’s words, a no-brainer. “Mr. Crye is a true trailblazer in our industry. In a time of upheaval for many real estate companies, he continues to grow the same firm he founded in 1977. What impressed me most is Crye-Leike’s commitment to grassroots real estate-serving the client first. This platform allows me to do exactly that: put my clients and their properties first.”

Outside of real estate, Matt enjoys traveling and exploring new countries with his wife of 30 years and their daughter. An avid sailor and adventurer, he draws parallels between sailing and commercial real estate transactions: “You are headed for a destination and the changes in weather, wind and currents require anticipation, attention and adjustment to changing conditions. Reaching the destination is rewarding—but the journey is what makes it interesting.”
